Tata Motors has tried something new with the Curvv EV, while Maruti is stepping into this domain with the e Vitara. Both cars are quite important to the two auto giants' portfolios, though the stakes may not be as high for the former, given its expansive EV lineup. That said, both EVs promise to be impressive with the wealth of features they offer and the performance they claim to deliver. So, we put them head-to-head to find out which one stands out.

The Maruti e Vitara is expected to be launched this March with its final price list shown. From what we expect it can enter the space with a tag of around that mark. While Maruti is subject to be more affordable in general in this case there shouldn’t be much difference between the ask of the two.

The Curvv EV tends to be the bigger car due to its coupe-style design. However, the Maruti e-Vitara features a more conventional body style with a significantly longer wheelbase—over 100mm more. No wonder you get more room inside the Maruti EV.

There’s minimal to look up to for differences. Both the EVs are well equipped with similar features except the Curvv EV carries a larger display for infotainment while the e Vitara compensates with an extra airbag.

The Maruti e-Vitara comes with larger battery packs compared to the Curvv. However, while the bigger battery provides more power to its motor, this doesn’t translate to higher torque output. In contrast, the Curvv EV, with its smaller battery pack, is expected to deliver a more engaging and sportier driving experience.

All things considered, the Maruti e Vitara and Tata Curvv EV, despite both being compact electric SUVs, cater to different buyer preferences. While the Curvv EV appeals to those looking to stand out, the e Vitara adds salt as needed to suit the tastes of the masses. As a result, it is likely to be received more favourably than Tata’s contender.
