A little BE 6, a little 3XO, and a lot of Mahindra’s design philosophy - is what Vision X is!

5 Things You Must’ve Missed About The Mahindra Vision X highlights

Mahindra Vision X concept sure makes us think it could be the new-gen XUV 3XO, and its futuristic design cues make us excited about the final version, which we will see by late 2028–early 2029. We have run a thorough check over the Vision X and have noticed things we believe you might have missed. So here you go:

1. Front – Stylish!

The face looks new, stylish, and classy. The only thing reminiscent of the XUV 3XO you could have missed, we guess, are the vertical slats on the grille beside the logo. However, they are not chrome-filled as found in the 3XO. The LED DRLs are positioned up, not connected, while the LED headlamps are housed down in separate housings, something found in Mahindra’s XEV 9e. There’s a silver skid plate to add contrast to the look.

2. Side – Sharp!

The side looks sharp with cuts and creases that, for once, could make you think about the Mahindra BE 6 – not as alienated but surely as creasy. To add to its futuristic vibe, you have flush-type door handles for both the front and rear doors. Its thick gloss black body cladding is what makes me remember the BE 6 the most. There’s a silver element on the cladding for some bling. There are roof rails too, which are matched with the dual tone of its roof.

3. Rear – The Funky 3XO!

It is through the rear three-quarter that you feel it could be the new-gen XUV 3XO. However, it’s not vanilla for sure. Mahindra’s design game, judging from the Vision X’s design, is surely funky, if ‘futuristic’ doesn’t sit enough.

The connected LED tail lamps and the bold silver skid plates are fine. What you might have overlooked, which is not so possible, are the two shark-fin-type roof spoiler-mounted stop lamps.

4. Future Ready!

The Mahindra Vision X looks fresh. Yes, it sits on that same NU IQ platform. But on the design front, its camera-based ORVMs hint at the fact that it will be no regular SUV. Look inside and you’ll notice that the displays are positioned in a floating layout like winglets behind the 2-spoke steering wheel.

5. Looks Almost There…

A single look at the Mahindra Vision X, and it would be safe to say that this concept is the most conventional out of the lot. It seems more production-ready for the market compared to the other concepts showcased – Vision T, Vision SXT and Vision S.

Considering that this one will be facing fierce competition in the sub-4m segment as the Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet are due for a generation change, before its debut, and there are even more contenders coming into the segment.

ZigSays…

So, the Mahindra Vision X is designed in a flavour that may or may not be the new-gen XUV 3XO, but it can surely be one well-styled contender in the sub-compact SUV segment to look out for. And it's in fact an important stand for Mahindra. Both its existing sub-compact products – the XUV 3XO, the XUV 400 EV, with their platforms, have been ageing. With the way newer products are entering the market, it seems Mahindra has finally decided to take on this challenge, and the Vision X’s market-ready iteration could be its answer.
