The third-gen Renault Duster is now more stylised, feature-loaded and gets cleaner engine options as well

The third iteration of the Dacia Duster for global markets has been revealed. This particular car is relevant to our shores as it’ll be rebadged as a Renault, marking the Duster’s comeback to our shores. That said, its unveiling is still a while away as we expect it to come here only sometime in 2025. So if you can’t wait until then, here are 5 things you need to know about the upcoming India-bound SUV.

Exterior Design

The Renault Duster gets a sleek front grille with inserts that run up to the LED headlights, which has a Y-shaped LED DRL insignia. Below it, you get a macho-styled front bumper that ups the rugged quotient.

In profile, the Duster still has a familiar silhouette, but the glass area is new and tapers upwards. It’s still beefy, thanks to the chunky squared-out wheel arches and the beefy rear haunch. Towards the rear, you get new LED tail lamps with a Y-shaped signature and a chunky bumper.

Interior Design

Inside, the 2024 Renault Duster gets a completely new dashboard design featuring a prominent 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. Notably, physical controls for climate control have been preserved. The driver gets to grip a chunky new three-spoke steering wheel as well. An intriguing design element includes AC vents reminiscent of the Lamborghini Urus and the distinctive "Duster" embossing on the dashboard, adding a unique touch to the overall aesthetic.

The feature set is quite comprehensive, encompassing a fully digital instrument cluster, compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, and the inclusion of heated front seats (with a probable shift to ventilated seats for the Indian market).

On the passenger safety front, there are multiple airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, and notably, the addition of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), enhancing the vehicle's safety measures significantly.

Engine Options

There is no diesel engine option available with the Duster, but you still get multiple options including LPG, turbo-petrol with mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid powertrains. And for those intending to explore the unexplored, there is an all-wheel drive version as well. You can check out the detailed specifications of all three engine options by tapping this link.

Expected India Launch And Price

The launch of the third-generation Duster by Renault on our shores is expected sometime in 2025. Initial estimates suggest prices could commence around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). This will put it in contention with compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate.
