Women's Day 2016: Female Parliamentarian arrives in Lok Sabha on a Harley Davidson!

We’ve seen biker girls celebrate the Women’s Day in unique manners and this bug seems to have bitten a few politicians too. Flaunting her love for bikes, Ranjeet Ranjan, the wife of politician Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, arrived riding on what looked like an orange-coloured Harley Davidson FXDB Street Bob, on Tuesday.

Ranjan, who won the 16th Lok Sabha election from the constituency of Madhepura, Bihar cut a dashing figure in a blue salwar kameez and dark sunglasses with a black helmet strapped on securely and drew much attention as she roared into Parliament.

The ride of the 39-year-old lawmaker from Bihar's Supaul is powered by a 1.6-litre engine that is good for 65.9PS of power. The frame of the elegant bike is wrapped in hardcore bobber style with twin exhausts adding to its charm.

The parliament is celebrating International Women's Day today by trying to ensure that women lawmakers get a chance to speak in Parliament. Prime Minster Narendra Modi had suggested last week that only female members of the parliament would speak in the houses today.

The current lot of lawmakers in the 543-member Lok Sabha comprises no less than 66 women, which is the highest ever number. On the other hand, the Rajya Sabha has 31 women lawmakers.
