Fiat India has confirmed that it will launch the all-new Fiat Punto in July. Although initial indications suggested the Punto being launched at the end of 2014, Fiat has preponed the car so it can combat the likes of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai i20. The new Fiat will be available with two petrol engines, a 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre along with the tried and tested 1.3-litre Multijet engine.

As we mentioned earlier, the lovely Maserati-esque styling features with the pointy headlights seem to have been replace by a more Jaguar inspired nose section. The large air dam is complimented well with the chrome festooned bumper elements and the new fog-lamp surrounds that remind us of the Fiat Linea. The new headlights too have been stretched inwards with a blacked reflector. The headlights though do not showcase any sort of projector or LED setup. We recently spotted a test mule doing its daily runs near the Fiat factory and also spotted subtle changes to the likes of the rear bumper which seem to be inspired from the Fiat Punto Evo.

We also expect the new Fiat Punto to have the same interiors as the new Fiat Linea does. The updates will include an all new dashboard, a new steering wheel and updated instrument clusters. The new Punto will also have features like Bluetooth, USB and AUX ports for the infotainment system with other features like automatic headlamps and wipers.

The new Fiat Punto will also feature an all new logo as seen above and will be available in a range of new colors. We also expect Fiat to introduce a set of customizable decal packs of some sort with the new Punto to allow owners to customize their cars accordingly. The new Punto should be priced at around Rs 5.5-7.5 lakh and will be sold alongside the older Grande Punto which we think will be badged as the Punto Classic. With the tried and tested diesel motor below the hood and good looks to match, Fiat might be finally looking at a long needed rejuvenation of sorts in India.

Fiat Hello Life campaign

In other news, Fiat India also recently launched a brand new advertisement campaign called ‘Hello Life’ to celebrate the Fiat way of doing things. The ad campaign ill feature Pharrell William’s Oscar nominated global smash hit ‘Happy’ and will air on television networks and internet video streaming websites soon. The catchy song and video will showcase Fiat’s 2014 product range including future cars like the new Punto, the Avventura and the Abarth 500. The new campaign will also use testimonies from existing Fiat customers, especially those who have been Fiat owners for a few decades in a bid to garner more customers to the Italian brand.
