Maruti Suzuki Ritz

After the departure of our Maruti Swift D’zire, we were really missing a good oil burner in our line up. Maruti immediately heard our prayers and sent in the all new Ritz. The styling is a radical departure from anything else on the road and looks pretty funky to say the least. We received the top end Vdi variant which comes pretty loaded but misses out on alloy wheels which would have further added to its funky looks. The insides are pretty refreshing as well when compared to the dull grey interiors of the Swift. As a family car, the Ritz can accommodate four people with ease but the fifth member is a bit of a squeeze.

Boot space is pretty adequate for its class and I can cram in most of my camera equipment in there. Upfront, the Ritz sports the same 1.3 DDiS unit from the Swift but the difference in the state of tune is quite noticeable. The Ritz has none of the kick that the Swift had once the turbo kicked in. What you get is a linear surge of power. It also feels much more refined. Fuel efficiency has been pretty good as well averaging well above 12 kmpl. The odometer at the moment says 3,229 km and everyone of them was troublefree. Here's to putting some more happy km on the odo.
