Honda has taken the wraps off the Elevate SUV in the Japanese market. It has been introduced as the new ‘WR-V’ in the Land Of Rising Sun, a nameplate that was used in the now discontinued Jazz-based crossover in India. Apart from its different name, there are a handful of differences between the India-spec and Japan-spec Elevate.

Exterior Design

On the outside, the Japan-spec Honda Elevate looks largely similar to what we get here. The only major difference on the outside between them is its colour palette where you get exclusive hues for both the models. Also, in India, you have the option to pick the Elevate in a dual-tone colour, something which Japanese people don’t get.

Here are the list of colour options you get with both the India-spec and Japan-spec Elevate:

Interior Design

While the basic dashboard layout and design of both the cars is the same, the Japan-spec model gets an all-black hue while the Indian model gets a black/tan colour scheme. Also, keen-eyed viewers will notice that the infotainment screens for both the cars are different. This brings us to the features list.

The Japan-spec Honda Elevate misses out on two features the Indian car offers: a wireless phone charger, and a sunroof. On the other hand, the India-spec Elevate doesn’t feature front parking sensors like the international model.

The rest of the features are neck-and-neck, which includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, automatic climate control, a semi-digital instrument cluster, multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and most importantly, ADAS.

Engine Option

No major changes here as well. They are powered by the familiar 121PS 1.5-litre petrol engine that drives the front wheels. While a CVT is offered on both the models, the option of a 6-speed manual is limited to the India-spec car. To know our impressions on the Honda Elevate, check out our in-depth first drive review
