TVS Apache RTR 200 Fi E100: Image Gallery

TVS Motors took its first major step towards the green revolution with the launch of the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100. Priced at Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the ethanol-powered model is around Rs 23,000 more expensive than the standard variant. What makes it tick? Here’s a closer look at the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 in ten detailed images.

• The biggest difference comes in the form of a twin-spray, twin-port, electronic fuel-injection system that feeds air/fuel mixture to the bikes 197.75cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled motor. In other words, the system should allow the motorcycles to offer better throttle response and run smoother.

• Power figures remain identical to the standard Apache RTR 200 Fi, which puts out 21PS and 18.1Nm. The motor works in conjunction with a 5-speed transmission and a slipper clutch.

• That said, the folks from TVS claim that the use of ethanol helps the bike produce 50 per cent less benzene and butadiene. Nitrogen oxide (NOx) carbon monoxide (CO) emissions are considerably lower too! Simply put, the bike will be easier on the environment and a godsend for every eco-nut out there.

• Also, to help differentiate itself from its petrol-powered counterparts, the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 adorns a white paint job along with new lime green decals on the fuel tank.

• Whether or not TVS intends to introduce new colours in the near future for this eco-friendly bike is unknown.

• Overall, the styling on the bike remains unchanged. In essence, it uses the same sharp bodywork, headlight with LED DRLs and fully digital instrument cluster as the regular Apache.

• Mechanically, it features the same double-cradle frame, telescopic fork and monoshock.

• Like the standard bike, the E100 variant uses a 270mm front and 240mm rear petal disc.

• There is one technical difference though, the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 features a single-channel ABS setup to keep costs down.

• Weirdly enough, the bike is currently only available in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. However, TVS could launch the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 across the country in the foreseeable future.
