Tata Motors has finally revealed its second EV, named the Nexon EV, in India ahead of its launch, which is slated for early 2020. It debuts Tata's Ziptron electric powertrain with output figures od 129PS and 245Nm. It boasts of a range exceeding 300km thanks to a 30.2kWh battery pack. Bookings will commence on December 20 for a token amount of Rs 21,000. While the prices haven’t been revealed yet, we expect it to be in the range of Rs 15 lakh and Rs 17 lakh. The carmaker has revealed that the Nexon EV will be offered in three variants - XM, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX. Here’s a look at what each variant packs and the differences between each of them:

XM

Let’s start off the Nexon EV’s lineup with the most barebones variant - the XM. It is equipped with plenty of features despite it being the lowest variant in the Nexon EV. Some of them include fully automatic climate control, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Telematics App, keyless entry with push-button stop/start and automatic transmission with Drive and Sport mode. It misses out on equipment like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels,  a camera-based reverse park assist, sunroof, automatic headlamps, and automatic rain-sensing wipers. This variant is ideal for those on a lower budget and willing to compromise on some premium bits.

XZ+

The XZ+ variant is the mid-spec variant of the Nexon EV. It gets all the features from the XM variant and sports additional bits as well. The feature list consists of a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, dual-tone roof, park assist with reverse camera and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. It misses out on bits like a sunroof, automatic headlamps, automatic rain-sensing wipers, and leather seats. The XZ+ is a fairly loaded variant that you can opt for without having to miss out much from the top-spec XZ+ LUX.

We finally get to the fully-loaded variant of the Nexon EV - XZ+ LUX. Aside from all the features seen in the XZ+ variant, it gets automatic headlamps, premium leather seats, sunroof as well as automatic rain-sensing wipers. It isn’t a massive leap from the XZ+, so go for it only if you want better seats and more automated cabin features.
