Skoda Yeti Performance Drive enthralls Mumbaikars

A look at the 2011 Skoda Yeti ‘Right of Way Expedition’ Calendar should give you a fairly good idea of what this Czech softroader is really capable of. Having already overcome some of India’s most challenging terrain and off-roading landscapes, the Yeti has worked hard to prove its mettle here in India, and thanks to a bunch of well planned initiatives by its maker, the five-seater multi-purpose vehicle continues to envice the interest of more and more adventurous car buyers in the country.

For a closer look at the Yeti’s multi-faceted performance attributes, Skoda Auto India recently began its ‘Skoda Performance Drive Initiative’, which was recently held in the city of Mumbai. Spectators gather at Mumbai’s InOrbit Mall parking lot got the opportunity to witness first hand, exactly what makes the Skoda Yeti such a great performer both on and off the road.

Scheduled over two days, the Performance Drive in Mumbai put the multi award winning softroader through a five point obstacle course that was quite varied in nature, thus testing the car’s real world abilities both as a 4X4 off-roader and as a practical urban transporter.

In the first phase of the performance drive, the Yeti gave a fine display of its well engineered maneuvering capabilties assisted by its very own parktronic feature, that made the drive experience non strenous even in the city’s high traffic zones.

The second phase of the drive focused more on the agility, balance and power of the 140 bhp roomster. Artifically created ramps, pools of water and a combination of short ramps set the stage for the Yeti, to show off its all-wheel drive capabilities. 

The ‘Skoda Yeti Performance Drive’ Skoda Auto India has already been conducted in 9 different cities, including the recent show in Mumbai that ended on the 28th of August this year.
