Skoda Kushaq Launch Timeline Revealed

Deliveries will begin a month after the announcement of prices

Skoda Kushaq prices to be announced in June.
Bookings to begin in June, deliveries in July.
It will come with two turbo-petrol engines: 115PS 1.0-litre and 150PS 1.5-litre.
Both engines will come with manual and automatic transmissions.
It’s likely to be priced from Rs 9 lakh to Rs 17 lakh.

The Skoda Kushaq seems to be making all the right noises since its global unveiling. It looks smart, comes with a good quality interior, a lengthy feature list, and two turbo-petrol engines. The only missing piece in the puzzle is the price, which Skoda India’s boss says ‘will be revealed in June.’

The Kushaq will be offered in three variants: Active, Ambition, and Style. Pre-launch bookings will begin in June and deliveries a month after. So if you're a potential customer, you have no other choice but to wait.

The Kushaq features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, a 6-speaker sound system with subwoofer, ambient lighting, and ventilated seats. It, however, misses out on a panoramic sunroof and a diesel engine when compared to the Creta.

Safety is covered by six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, hill hold control, and a tyre pressure sensor. Skoda also deserves a pat on the back for offering electronic stability control as standard across the range.

The Kushaq will come with 115PS 1.0-litre and 150PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. Both units are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.0-litre unit gets an optional 6-speed torque converter while the larger engine gets a sophisticated 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Kushaq is underpinned by the VW Group’s localised MQB-A0-IN platform.

The Kushaq is likely to be priced between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in the league of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
