Renault's second attempt at badge engineering after toying with the Pulse hatchback earlier, the Scala is essentially a Nissan Sunny under the skin. While differences between the two mid-sized sedans are purely cosmetic, they have given the Scala the ability to tap a slightly higher clientele, albeit a higher price tag. The Scala being a spacious, comfortable and value for money vehicle hits the sweet spot for Indian customers. This, perhaps, is just the car Renault needs to crack the Indian market.
