Maruti Suzuki has launched the Vitara Brezza, the first compact SUV offering from the Manesar-based manufacturer. We give you a low down on its variants and the features it offers
Maruti Suzuki has finally entered the compact SUV segment with the just-launched Vitara Brezza. The new offering has been eagerly awaited since its concept was first unveiled back in 2012. It is powered by the same 1.3-litre DDiS 200 engine that also does duty in the Swift and Ertiga. The engine is capable of producing 90PS of power and 200Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Brezza will be offered in six variants, LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, and the top-end ZDi+ model. The compact SUV faces direct competition from the Mahindra TUV300 and the Ford EcoSport in the market.
The base model is priced at Rs 6.99 lakh and gets body coloured bumpers, black skid plate, central locking for all four doors, power operated windows only for the front doors, engine immobiliser, manual air conditioning and tilt steering. The infotainment system is equipped with a CD player with aux-in, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Maruti Suzuki has skipped ABS and EBD for this variant. Airbag has been provided only for the driver’s side in this model. The company has opted for 205/60 R16 tyres for the compact SUV.
The LDi (O) is priced at Rs 7.12 lakh and gets ABS and EBD, dual airbags, and seat belt tensioners with force limiter. Both the LDi and LDi (O) will be offered in four single tone colour shades viz., Pearl Artic White, Premium Silver, Granite Grey, and Blazing Red.
Carrying over the features of the base variant and adding more to it, the VDi variant is priced at Rs 7.62 lakh. On the exterior it gets body coloured door handles and side mirrors, wheel caps, roof rails, reverse parking sensors, and floating roof design with blackened out pillars. Inside, the door trims have armrests with fabric covering, audio remote control, power windows for all four doors, upper glovebox in dashboard, gear shift indicator, and anti-theft security system.
The VDi (O) comes for Rs 7.75 lakh and is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD and seat belt tensioners with force limiter. The VDi and VDi (O) get an additional Cerulean Blue colour to choose from.
The upper-spec ZDi variant is offered at Rs 8.55 lakh and comes with silver skid plate at the front and rear, fog lamps, chrome grille, rear wiper assembly and defogger, and projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps. Inside, it gets piano black centre garnish, aluminium accents on dashboard and door panels, mood lights for speedometer, steering mounted controls, and climate control for aircon. From this variant onwards, the Brezza gets 215/60 R16 tyres mounted on alloy wheels. An additional Fiery Yellow colour shade has been added to the ZDi variant.
The ZDi+ is the top-end variant and is priced at Rs 9.68 lakh. Along with all the features mentioned on the above variants, the ZDi+ gets the Maruti Smart Play infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, navigation, reverse parking camera, cruise control, push-button start, automatic headlamps, electrically folding ORVMs, and rain sensing wipers. Only the top-end variant has the option for dual-tone colour schemes for the exterior.
