As expected, SUVs made most of the headlines over the week!

Over the past seven days, the automotive industry has seen some intense action. Starting off big, Jeep has finally launched the fourth generation Wrangler while Hyundai has revealed the next-gen Grand i10 Nios. Kia has also addressed one of the major gripes with the Seltos, and the 2020 Creta has been spied on Indian roads for the first time. Topping things off, Maruti Suzuki has begun bookings for the XL6 MPV.

Fourth-gen Jeep Wrangler Launched: 

Jeep has finally launched the fourth generation Wrangler in India. It is available in a sole Unlimited variant. The Wrangler gets plenty of restyled elements like LED headlamps with DRLs, new alloy wheels and bumpers. Inside, the SUV gets a new dashboard along with Jeep’s 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Wrangler is ‘Trail Rated’ and comes with a plethora of off-road tech like locking differentials, low range gearbox, Jeep Selec-trac system, and more. 2019 Grand i10 Nios Revealed; To Launch Soon: 

 

Hyundai has finally revealed the 2019 Grand i10 Nios. It features a restyled exterior and interiors. The Nios will also come with segment-first features like wireless phone charging. Other features include a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, push button start-stop as well as steering mounted controls. Engine options will likely include the same 1.2-litre diesel and petrol units from the Grand i10, albeit with updates to meet BS6 norms. While the Nios will comes with a 5-speed manual as standard, the 4-speed torque converter will be replaced by the 5-speed AMT. The latter can be had with both engines. The Kia Seltos GT X+ packs some impressive features like a premium Bose sound system, a sunroof, ventilated front seats, an eight-way powered driver seat, a 360-degree camera, and more. Now, it seems like the top-spec variant will not skimp on the DCT option as reported earlier. Kia has taken feedback from prospective customers and will offer the DCT gearbox in the top-spec GT X+ variant as well. Now, you won’t have to give up the premium features for the convenience of a dual-clutch automatic.

2020 Hyundai Creta Spied On Indian Roads: 

The 2020 Hyundai Creta has been spied on Indian roads for the first time. Based on the iX25 that was unveiled at the 2019 Auto Shanghai, the upcoming SUV will get revamped looks and feature the manufacturer’s latest ‘Sensuous 2.0’ design theme. Maruti Suzuki XL6 Bookings Begin:

Bookings for the Ertiga-based XL6 have begun. You can book one for yourself online or at a Nexa dealership with a token amount of Rs 11,000. The Maruti Suzuki XL6 premium MPV is slated to launch on August 21 and will be available in two variants. It features refreshed looks and an all-black interior. And as the name suggests, the XL6 is a six seater and the middle row has individual captain seats. Under the hood, the XL6 will only get a 1.5-litre petrol engine along with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
