Jehan Daruvala wins Round 1 of British Karting Championship

Jehan Daruvala won the opening round of the British Karting Championship in the KFJ category, which was held at Rowrah in Cumbria, UK

Sahara Force India Academy racer Jehan Daruvala won the first round of the British Karting Championship, which was held at Rowrah. Jehan who is currently racing in the KFJ category of the championship took pole position and won all his four heats before taking the win. 

In the first final, the young Sahara Force India Academy driver won the race but in the second final he was forced off the track after contact with another driver during the race. However, he recovered from the last position spot that he was pushed down to and finished in fourth place.

 

Jehan commented on the weekend saying, “I’m very pleased with my weekend in Rowrah. Things went very well right from the start of the event and it shows that all the hard work and testing is paying off. I was very comfortable in the wet conditions and was always up at the front.”

 

After his performance in the qualifying, heats and final races, Jehan currently leads the championship with 154 points. The next round of the British Karting Championship will be held at the Glany Gors Park in Wales in June.
