First Batch Of Jeep’s Wrangler Rubicons Sold Out In Less Than Two Weeks

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India has announced that the first batch of the Wrangler Rubicon has been sold out. The Rubicon is the Wrangler’s more hardcore, off-roading variant and comes with additional kit and raised ground clearance. The CBU import was launched on March 3 at Rs 68.94 lakh (ex-showroom) and has no rivals in India other than the Land Rover Defender.

The Wrangler Rubicon is equipped with mud-terrain tyres and an electronically controlled sway bar. Its RockTrac full-time all-wheel-drive system is aided by a two-speed transfer case and TruLock locking differentials. Under the bonnet lies a 2.0-litre turbo petrol which makes 268PS of power and 400Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Apart from rock rails below the door sills, knobbly tyres, and Rubicon badging on either side of the bonnet, the Rubicon looks identical to the Wrangler. Inside, the SUV features the same leather-wrapped dashboard and driver controls, an 8.4-inch touchscreen UConnect infotainment system and voice commands.
