  • Prices are likely to start at Rs 15 lakh.
  • A production version is expected by early 2021.

Great Wall Motors-owned Haval has globally revealed the Concept H plug-in hybrid SUV in India at Auto Expo 2020. The Concept H gets sharp styling and could spawn a production-spec SUV by early 2021. Once launched, the mid-sized SUV will rival the MG Hector, Kia Seltos, and the new Creta, among others. Prices could start from Rs 15 lakh.

The Concept H has distinctive and aggressive looks up front with its fang-shaped indicator lamps. The exterior features LED DRLs at the front and LED elements in the taillamp.

Inside, the Concept H gets a minimalist dashboard design with a floating touchscreen infotainment system. The steering wheel is similar to the one in the Haval F7 SUV. The driver also gets a head-up display.

Powertrains are likely to be shared with other Haval and MG SUVs. The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol is a likely option.

What does the new Haval concept mean for India? Great Wall Motors has a long portfolio of SUVs, but most of them were conceived and are sold in China. However, the Concept H will be built a made-for-India SUV. We hope to see the production version of the SUV by early next year. It is likely to be priced upwards of Rs 15 lakh and will go up against recently updated SUVs from Hyundai, Kia, and Tata.
