The Porsche Cayman has been a successful car for the Stuttgart based sports car manufacturer filling the gap between the 911 and the Boxster perfectly. The Cayman has also been regarded as one of the best drivers cars that one can buy today with its mid-engined layout and pin point perfect handling. The Cayman though will soon get a mid generation facelift.
Spied here undergoing routine testing around the Nurburgring, the Cayenne will feature expected updates in the headlights, front daytime running lights and front bumper. The rear tail lamps too seem to have received an update along with a new rear diffuser that wraps around the centrally mounted exhaust tips. The new Cayman will also come with a new set of wheels that will tie up the design well.

Apart from the straight-six engines available now, the facelifted Cayman will be offered with four-cylinder engines as well. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, reports have suggested the company will offer a 1.6-liter with 210PS, a 2.0-liter with 286PS and a 2.5-liter unit with 360PS, which makes the Cayman within reach of a larger target audience. The next generation Porsche Boxster too will get smaller less powerful engines that will help cut down on overall costs thereby making them move lower down the pricing spectrum.
