Maruti Suzuki has taken the wraps off the new Vitara Brezza at Auto Expo 2020. It comes with a cosmetic update and a new BS6-compliant petrol engine. Further, the new Vitara Brezza won’t be available with a diesel engine as the 1.3-litre DDIS motor won’t be upgraded to meet BS6 emission norms. So without further ado, here are 5 things you need to know about the new Vitara Brezza.
A Heart Transplant:

Like the Ertiga and the Ciaz, the new Vitara Brezza comes with a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre K15B petrol motor that develops 105PS of power and 138Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Speaking of which, only the petrol-AT variants are available with the 12-volt mild-hybrid system. Called Smart Hybrid, it provides torque assist and gets a start-stop function for improved fuel economy.
A Cosmetic Update:

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza comes with a mild cosmetic update that freshens up its design. Highlights include a new chrome grille, headlamps, bumpers, dual-tone alloy wheels and revamped LED tail lamps. It also comes with new colour options as well. If you wish to truly stand out from the crowd, then you could opt for the Granite Grey paint option which brings with an orange coloured roof.
Interior Updates:

Inside, the facelifted Vitara Brezza’s dashboard is almost the same as the version before it. Again, opting for the Granite Grey option will get you various orange inserts inside the cabin.
Any New Features?

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara now comes with new features like LED headlamps and an updated Smartplay Studio infotainment system. Features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, cruise control, a multi-info display, keyless entry with push button start and steering-mounted audio controls have been retained. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors.
Expected Price And Launch:

The new Vitara Brezza petrol is expected to be launched by the end of February. We expect it to be priced similar to the diesel Vitara Brezza, which starts from Rs 7.62 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted Vitara Brezza will lock horns with the petrol variants of the Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon.
