The Maruti Suzuki Swift sibling, new-gen Dzire sub-4m sedan will go on sale in the Indian market post November 11. It will continue to face off against contenders like the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Honda Amaze. That being said, it has to bring notable updates to impress and multiple test mules spotted until now have convinced us that the Dzire will feature an updated look and some new features.
In this article, we’ll explore five features that the new Dzire could potentially get, particularly over its competitor, the Hyundai Aura, which is a well-equipped sedan in this segment.
Let's look into the list:
From all the times it was spotted and papped under wraps, the new Dzire is confirmed to debut with a fixed single-pane sunroof – a feature previously unseen in its segment. This addition makes it the first sub-4m sedan to offer a sunroof. This feature alone may give it an advantage over the Aura, thanks to the craze of a sunroof among Indian buyers.

The 7-inch infotainment in the outgoing Dzire is likely to be upgraded this time to a 9-inch touchscreen unit and it can come equipped with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as already offered in the Swift. It will give the car an edge over the Hyundai Aura that gets a 8-inch touchscreen for infotainment.

Talking about segment first features, a test mule of the new Maruti Dzire have also been spotted with the 360-degree camera. It is already available in the Maruti Baleno, and now confirmed to be offered with the Dzire as well, hence giving it an edge over the smaller Swift, which only gets a rear view camera.

The 2024 Dzire could also borrow the head-up display (HUD) from the Baleno and Fronx which would give it an edge over its rival Aura. This feature would allow drivers to access essential information on a transparent screen above the instrument cluster, helping them stay focused on the road.

Another feature that can add more to the Dzire’s premium appeal is multi-colour ambient lighting. The Aura does have footwell lighting in single colour but the Dzire can dial up this quotient by offering a multi-colour lighting in its cabin. If done so, its premium appeal will also be a tough fight to any other sedans in the segment.

The new Dzire is also expected to offer six airbags as a standard across variants, along with other conveniences such as a wireless phone charger, rear AC vents, automatic climate control—similar to the Aura’s offerings. Prices of the Dzire are anticipated to start from Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Hyundai Aura begins at Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom). As the launch date nears, it will be interesting to see how the new Dzire’s updates stack up against the Aura in the competitive sub-compact sedan segment.
