Honda has already sold more than 100 million units of the Super Cub 125 since its initial introduction

  • It now uses a cleaner 124cc motor with a revised bore and stroke length.
  • Now gets a pillion seat and rear footpegs as standard.
  • Priced at GBP 3,499 (approximately Rs 3.61 lakh).
  • Honda has taken the wraps off the 2021 Super Cub 125 in the United Kingdom. The geared moped has received nifty changes for added functionality and will go on sale by August 2021.

First off, the Super Cub 125 now runs on a cleaner Euro-5 compliant 124cc air-cooled motor. It gets a shorter bore (50mm vs 52.4mm) and a longer stroke (63.1mm vs 57.9mm) than its predecessor. The output figures remain unaltered at 9.7PS and 10.4Nm, but the torque arrives much later at 6,250rpm instead of 5,000rpm. It still employs a 4-speed gearbox like before.

Another significant change made to the 2021 Super Cub 125 is the addition of the pillion seat and rear footpegs. It retains the same suspension setup--a telescopic front fork and dual rear shocks-- but the spring innards have been tweaked to counter the added load of a pillion rider and to improve ride quality.

The braking hardware comprises a 220mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum, with single-channel ABS as standard. The 2021 Super Cub 125 gets a charging port too.

Honda offers the latest iteration of the Super Cub 125 in a new paint scheme of Matt Axis Grey Metallic with a price tag of Rs 3.61 lakh in the UK. Apart from the high asking price, the Indian market has never taken a fancy to geared scooters since the Chetaks and Vespa selects died out. So, the Super Cub 125 is bound to stay overseas only.
