2020 BMW X1 Facelift Launch Tomorrow: All You Need To Know

The facelifted BMW X1 sports a cosmetic update and BS6-compliant engines

BMW India is all set to launch the facelifted 2020 X1 in the country on March 5. The facelifted X1 will come with cosmetic updates, a slightly revised interior and more features. It’ll also sport updated BS6-compliant engines. Here’s all you need to know about the updated SUV:

Exterior Design:

As seen in recent BMW cars, the facelifted X1 comes with larger kidney grilles flanked by sleek LED headlamps. Then there are the bumpers which now feature an aggressive design with slim LED fog lamps and large airdams. In profile, the only change are the redesigned alloy wheels which freshens up the design. Moving on to the rear, the facelifted X1 comes with revised tail lamps and a new bumper with twin exhausts.

Interior Design:

Inside, the facelifted X1’s dashboard looks similar to the existing model, with updates being limited to the revised instrument cluster and the i-Drive infotainment system.

The 2020 BMW X1 will feature wireless Apple CarPlay, climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, keyless entry with push-button start and powered front seats. As far as safety features go it will come with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, a rear view camera, electronic stability control, traction control and a tyre pressure monitor.

Engine Options:

The BMW X1 will be offered with two BS6-compliant engine options: a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel. The petrol engine develops 192PS and 280Nm while the diesel motor puts out 190PS and 400Nm. Transmission options for the petrol motor include a 7-speed automatic while the diesel engine can be had with an 8-speed automatic unit. Both engines send their power to the front wheels and there isn’t an AWD variant like before.

Variant Options:

The 2020 BMW X1  will be offered in four variants. Here's a detailed table:

X1 Diesel

X1 Petrol

Expected Prices and Rivals:

The facelifted BMW X1 is expected to cost more than the current model which starts from Rs 35.20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the Audi Q3 and the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLA
