Looking at the 2017 edition RC 390, the first noticeable update is the new paint livery on the bike. It now gets a black and orange colour scheme, but with fresh graphic design in white. The body of the bike have orange-coloured panels which were previously used only for the trellis frame and alloy wheels. On the mechanical front, the bike now gets ride-by-wire system for better throttle responce, a bigger 320mm disc at the front and a compact side-mounted exhaust which replaces the much loved underbelly unit, in order to comply with new emission norms. The switchable ABS system remains untouched. Power is derived from the same 373.3cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled mill which is now BS-IV compliant and continues to produce the same power output of 43.5PS at 9000rpm while max torque has been bumped up to 36Nm at 7000rpm.

For the 2017 RC 200, the update is mostly cosmetic. A new colour scheme of black and white with an orange graphic design has been offered for the 2017 edition. The company has made the pillion seat more comfortable by adding 12mm of extra padding. The bike continues to sport the underbelly exhaust system, unlike the 2017 RC 390. Mechanically, the bike has not undergone any changes. The engine is the same 199cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill which is now BS-IV compliant. Power output remains unchanged at 25PS and 19.2Nm.

Bajaj Auto currently has 325 KTM showrooms accross 239 cities in the country and further plans increase it to 450 outlets by next financial year.
