Toyota has introduced the Fortuner Leader Edition featuring a dual-tone exterior shade and a handful of cosmetic enhancements over the standard model. This edition is based on the base-spec rear-wheel-drive variant of the Fortuner, and is available only with the 2.8-litre diesel engine. Prices for this edition have not been revealed yet, but the carmaker has started accepting orders ahead of its launch.
For reference, here are the prices of the base-spec diesel variants of the Toyota Fortuner and one can expect it to command a Rs 50,000 premium.

Design-wise, there aren't any significant changes to the styling. However, the Fortuner Leader Edition comes equipped with 17-inch blacked-out alloy wheels, and front and rear lip spoilers. There are not any changes in the interior either, but the Leader Edition gets a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS). All of these will be fitted at an authorised dealership.
Additionally, it is available only in dual-tone shades, including Super White with black roof, Pearl White with black roof, and Silver Metallic with black roof.

Aside from the TPMS, all other features of the Leader Edition remain identical to those of the standard Fortuner. These include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, a 6-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, and a powered tailgate.
On the safety front, it gets seven airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, and hill hold assist.

Underneath the hood, the Fortuner Leader Edition is powered by 204 PS/ 500 Nm 2.8-litre diesel engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. It features a rear-wheel-drivetrain only and does not offer a four-wheel-drive option.
The Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition will rival the likes of the MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq.
