As part of exterior upgrades, Toyota has added new elements to make the 2025 Fortuner Leader Edition feel fresher. At the front, you have a larger grille and an updated front bumper with a more aggressive design. It also gets a ‘Fortuner’ emblem on the bonnet as standard. Talking of the side profile, the 17-inch alloys now get a glossy black finish with a dual-tone black roof for a sporty effect. At the rear, it gets an updated bumper with a chrome garnish.
Besides this, the Leader Edition retains the butch looks and muscular stance of the regular Fortuner.

Inside the 2025 Leader Edition, you will find a few small but important additions. These include new dual-tone black-and-maroon seats and door panels, along with illuminated scuff plates. Otherwise, it gets the same interior as the regular Fortuner with an upright dashboard and soft-touch elements on the dashboard.

Feature-wise, the 2025 update stays identical to the standard Fortuner except for two additions, which are a more advanced tyre pressure monitoring system and auto-folding outside rearview mirrors. The 2025 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition rivals the MG Gloster, but it can also be considered as an alternative to premium SUVs such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line.

The Fortuner has been an absolute favourite of the masses, consistently doing impressive sales figures for its segment. However, with it turning almost 8 years old, it needs more than just a few cosmetic and feature upgrades to stay relevant. The crude nature, short equipment list and an average petrol engine make it feel ancient compared to more recent competition, and Toyota would do well to give the full-size SUV a lot more comprehensive updates.
