Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the Vision Iconic concept globally, featuring all the modern advancements of the industry. The Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic is a concept that bridges the brand’s heritage with its electric and digital future. Inspired by the golden era of automotive design and the S-Class’s legacy of luxury, it combines Art Deco-inspired styling with advanced technologies like solar paint, neuromorphic computing, Level 4 automated driving, and steer-by-wire. While not a production car, it hints at where the next-generation S-Class could head in terms of design, tech, and luxury.

Design: Traditional Elegance In Electric Age

The Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic gets Mercedes-Benz’s most recognisable element - the radiator grille. Its wide chrome frame, smoked-glass lattice, long hood with swept-back cabin, and illuminated bonnet star draw inspiration from classics like the W108, W111, and 600 Pullman. This new illuminated radiator grille was first introduced in the 2025 Electric GLC. In addition to this, slim and modern headlights, a deep gloss-black finish, and sculpted, flowing lines give the car a strong presence.

Interior: Vintage Spirit with a Futuristic Soul 

Inside, the cabin comes with Art Deco luxury with a “Zeppelin” glass instrument panel, hyper-analogue animations, and fine materials such as blue velvet upholstery, brass accents, and straw marquetry flooring. The lounge-style front bench seat, pillar-to-pillar screens, and analogue-digital integration suggest a future S-Class cabin where comfort and technology coexist seamlessly.

Features: Future-Ready Tech 

The Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic showcases technologies that hint at what the next S-Class could offer. Its innovative solar paint, applied like a wafer-thin coating, could provide up to 12,000 km of extra range annually under ideal conditions and is fully recyclable. Neuromorphic computing mimics the human brain, making AI calculations faster and up to 90 percent more energy-efficient, enhancing autonomous driving systems that can better recognise traffic signs, lanes, and other road users even in poor visibility.

Level 4 automated driving will allow the car to navigate through urban streets and highways independently, turning the cabin into a lounge-like environment where occupants can relax, stream content, or even take a nap. It also gets the steer-by-wire system that will eliminate the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and wheels, improving handling, easing manoeuvring and parking, and creating more interior flexibility. Extending Vision Iconic’s design philosophy beyond the car, Mercedes-Benz has also created a capsule fashion collection inspired by the interior’s Art Deco aesthetic, reflecting the brand’s holistic approach to luxury.
