Starting off from its exterior design, the XUV 7XO’s styling has undergone a complete makeover. At the front, it gets a new radiator grille, new headlamps with a twin-pod LED projector setup and a new bumper with a faux silver skid plate.

Towards the side profile, it still retains muscular haunches, flush door handles and a ‘floating-roof effect’ for the C-pillar from the XUV700. However, the major update has come in the form of new 19-inch alloy wheels with a dual-tone colour scheme.

Moving on towards the rear styling, it closely resembles its all-electric sibling, the XEV 9S. Changes include reworked taillamps with ‘honeycomb-pattern’ detailing, a new bumper with gloss black elements and a more aggressive rear spoiler.

Inside the Mahindra XUV 7XO is a new dashboard layout along with a gloss-black two-spoke steering wheel, also borrowed from the XEV 9S and XEV 9e. Dominating this is a three-screen layout with 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster, infotainment system and a passenger entertainment display as well. However, it does get a new beige-tan colour scheme inside, giving a unique look and feel.

For the rear occupants, Mahindra is now offering an electric ‘Boss mode’ function to move the co-driver seat forward and increase the legroom.

Notably, just like the XUV700, Mahindra is offering a 6-seat layout as well, which comes with captain seats for the second row.
In terms of the equipment offered, the XUV 7XO is equipped with the aforementioned tri-screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, 6-way powered front seats, two wireless chargers, front and rear ventilated seats, multi-colour ambient lighting, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, BYOD entertainment screen slots and a powered tailgate.

Features such as triple-screen setup, push-button start/stop, 6 airbags, cruise control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ESC and more are standard across all variants.

Safety-wise, it gets a Level 2 ADAS suite with 5 radars, 7 airbags, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, 540-degree camera, hill descent control, hill hold assist, auto-dimming IRVM, tyre pressure monitoring system and front and rear parking sensors.

Under the hood, the XUV 7XO carries the same set of powertrains as its predecessor, which includes 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, both of which are offered with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. However, Mahindra is not revealed details of the performance figures yet.
Here are these powertrain’s detailed specifications from the XUV700:

Notably, Mahindra also offers an optional all-wheel drive system with the diesel engine for thrill-seekers.

The XUV 7XO will compete with SUVs like the Tata Harrier and Safari, the recently-updated MG Hector and Hector Plus, Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Alcazar.
It is no surprise that the XUV700 has been a blockbuster success with its strong performance, long list of features and sophisticated styling, making it a compelling package. The XUV 7XO looks to be even more appealing, and with the competitive pricing is all set to once again shake up the midsize SUV segment!
