  • Pre-launch bookings to open from July 2022.

  • Citroen to offer the C3 with 1.2-litre N.A. and 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engines.

  • They will get a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed MT, respectively, with no automatic option for now.

  • Prices are expected to start from Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

  • To rival cars like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20.

  • Will also be an alternative to sub-4m SUVs like Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.

Citroen will launch the C3 on July 20 in India while its bookings will open from July 2022. The carmaker has now shared the torque and fuel efficiency numbers with us. Let’s take a look:

Citroen will provide the C3 only with two petrol engines. The carmaker has not announced any automatic transmission for now. The C3 promises to offer a better fuel economy than almost all its premium hatchback rivals save for the Maruti Baleno, which offers a claimed fuel efficiency of over 22kmpl.

While the C3’s power output is almost on par with its close competitors, it gets the highest torque figure for a turbocharged unit among its targeted rivals. It’s only the Hyundai i20 whose turbo-petrol version gets 10PS more power than the Citroen while the Altroz Turbo’s power number equals that of the C3. The Maruti Baleno, on the other hand, doesn’t get a turbo-petrol unit.

The carmaker will launch the C3 on July 20. It is expected to be priced from Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. While it will primarily take on the Maruti Baleno, Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, and Honda Jazz. It will also be an alternative to the likes of the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
