The subcompact SUV space in India is known for having many feature-rich SUVs with top-notch amenities in the convenience as well as safety department. Kia’s newest SUV, the Syros is also a sub-4-metre SUV but is a bit more premium than all the other SUVs in the segment. One very popular and feature-loaded SUV is the Tata Nexon and in this article, we take you through the list of features that the Syros packs over the Nexon:
The Syros comes equipped with dual 12.3-inch displays including the touchscreen infotainment system and the digital driver’s display. The Nexon on the other hand, comes with dual 10.25-inch displays. Both SUVs come equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and offer crisp screens with good feedback.
The Syros’ two screens along with the 5-inch display for climate control make it a 30-inch screen which gives a premium and modern effect inside the cabin.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, popularly known as ADAS is offered with the Syros. The kit offered is level-2 compliant and brings in premium safety features such as automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and lane departure warning. The Nexon misses out on this driving aid, and if you are keen on getting a Tata SUV with this feature, then you should check out the Tata Curvv which comes equipped with level-2 ADAS.
Not just ambient lighting, but the Syros comes with multi-colour ambient lighting giving the buyers a well-lit cabin that can be altered according to their taste. The Nexon misses out on this premium feature.
A premium feature to have, an electric parking brake with the auto hold function is offered with the Syros. This feature enables the driver to have a more seamless experience and adds a layer of convenience to day-to-day operations. The Nexon gets the old-school manual handbrake lever.
The Syros gets a 4-way powered driver’s seat, which makes adjusting your driver seat slightly more convenient. However, it would have been nice if Kia had offered a 6-way adjustment as you still need the regular manual lever for adjusting the seat height. In the Nexon, there are no electronic aids to adjust your seat.
The Syros comes with both sliding and reclining seats, which is a well-thought-out feature and significantly improves the space in the rear seat compartment. Talking about the rear seat, the Syros’ rear seat space is better than the Nexon and some of the credit can be given to the abovementioned features.
Having a spacious rear seat is good, but features add a cherry on top! The Syros gets a segment-first ventilated rear seat function which adds to the comfort and provides an extra layer of cooling to the passengers. The Nexon only gets front-ventilated seats, which are also available on the Syros. Both cars offer rear AC vents.
SUVs from the segment come with front and rear parking sensors and so does the Nexon. However, Kia has pushed the boundaries and given side parking sensors as well with the Syros! This further helps you while parking, ensuring that you do not hit any of those obstacles on the sides which do not come under the radar of your rear sensors.
The Kia Syros is expected to be priced from Rs 9.7 lakh (ex-showroom), while the prices for the Tata Nexon start at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). For more information about the Syros, head over to this story.
These features for sure make the Syros a more premium offering, and now it all depends on how well the SUV is priced. Its pricing will be out on February 1. What are your thoughts about these features? Which one did you like the most? Let us know in the comments below.
