Volvo has globally revealed its first-ever all-electric sedan, ES90. It is being sold particularly in the European market now, and even though not confirmed, it's somewhat likely we might see it in India someday. This premium electric saloon features a minimalist design and an array of modern features and luxury within. It's based on Volvo’s SPA2 platform, which also underpins the EX90 SUV. Let’s take a look at all that the ES90 has to offer.
The Volvo ES90 is a large all-electric sedan from the Swedish carmaker, featuring a low-slung, sophisticated design language typical of Volvo offerings. Here’s a quick look at the size of the car:

Up front, it has a minimalist appearance with a blanked-off body-coloured grille and signature LED lighting that symbolizes a ‘Thor Hammer.’ Over the roof, there’s a Lidar hump positioned at the front centre.

The profile looks clean with neat body lines. It comes with the option of 20-inch or 21-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

At the rear, it gets C-shaped LED taillights with pixelated elements and a bold black bumper.
Volvo has also followed minimalism inside the cabin of the ES90. It brings lounge-like comfort with premium upholstery that is offered in a mix of multiple themes, including Dawn, Charcoal, Cardamom and Zinc.

Right up above your head, you have a large fixed panoramic sunroof, which also cuts off the UV light. The cabin is well thought out with plentiful storage spaces. Also, there are front and rear centre armrests for passenger comfort.
The Volvo ES90 comes loaded with premium features like a 14.5-inch infotainment screen, a 9-inch digital driver’s display, a 13.2-inch head-up display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, multi-zone automatic climate control, an air purifier, a panoramic sunroof which is electrochromic with UV protection, rain sensor, ambient lighting, NFC smart key and a 25-speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system with Dolby Atmos.

Volvo cars are known for safety, and the ES90 sedan does it with multiple airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera and ADAS features.

The Volvo ES90 is offered internationally with two battery pack options. The smaller battery pack is paired with a single motor and rear-wheel drive option only, while the bigger battery gets paired with dual motors in a regular and sportier performance configuration. The motor pushes power to all four wheels in its case. Well, what’s really impressive is that the ES90, with its bigger battery, claims to offer a combined range of up to 700 km.
The Volvo ES90 is currently on sale only for select European nations, and its India launch hasn’t been teased or confirmed yet. However, with its possible success, there’s no harm in expecting it on our shores sometime later. If that turns out to be true, it can retail at a price of around Rs 1.2 crore to Rs 1.5 crore (ex-showroom), and it can be a competition to the BMW i5.

So, would you like to see the Volvo ES90 in India? Let us know in the comments.
