You’ll have to shell out a bit more dough for the Tata Nexon EV now, as the carmaker has silently given the electric SUV a price increment. It can be specced in the XM, XZ+, and XZ+ LUX trims. Here’s how much extra you’ll have to shell out for the Nexon EV:

Looking at the table above, the Nexon EV prices have been hiked by Rs 25,000, and it’s a uniform increment on all variants of the electric SUV. It now retails from Rs 14.54 lakh to Rs 17.15 lakh (ex-showroom, India). 

Aside from the price increment, the Nexon EV remains unchanged. It is powered by a 129PS electric motor, coupled with a 30.2kWH battery pack to deliver an ARAI-claimed 312km of range. The electric SUV seems to be set to get some mechanical upgrades soon, as test mules were spotted sporting different alloy wheels and rear disc brakes. Also, a Delhi RTO document hinted at a more powerful 136PS electric motor and a bigger battery pack in the pipeline.

Our recent chat with Tata’s VP Of Sales, Rajan Amba, also hinted at the possibility of a special edition trim for the Nexon EV. Until then, the electric SUV is a cheaper alternative to the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV. That being said, it is set to face competition soon from the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 Electric as well as MG’s upcoming electric SUV.
