At the Auto Expo 2025, Maruti Suzuki revealed the production-spec e Vitara ahead of its launch in March 2025. The electric SUV not only starts the iconic automaker’s EV chapter but also introduces some first-time features on a Maruti car. These features also make the e Vitara more well-equipped than its ICE counterpart, the Grand Vitara.
ADAS or Advanced Driver Assistance Systems has been introduced for the first time on a Maruti! The e Vitara is in fact level-2 (ADAS) compliant and gets key safety features like automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and lane departure warning. We expect Maruti to introduce this premium safety feature with the ICE Grand Vitara as well, in its next update.
Almost all Maruti SUVs in India get the familiar 9-inch unit for the infotainment, but Maruti has now introduced a larger 10.25-inch unit with the e Vitara. It comes with necessary features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as connected car tech.
Both the Grand Vitara and the flagship Invicto come with a 7-inch digital display, and it is the first time that Maruti has introduced a display that is greater than 10 inches.
The e Vitara has been revealed with 7 airbags, and that too is standard across all its variants. Most Maruti cars come with 6 airbags as standard, but the e Vitara gets an additional driver-side knee airbag for that extra layer of protection. We hope that the e Vitara passes the safety crash tests with flying colours!
The e Vitara offers a 10-way powered driver’s seat, which is in fact the best in its segment! This feature will make finding the perfect driving position a much easier task.
The Grand Vitara gets ambient lighting, but with the e Vitara, Maruti has introduced multi-colour ambient lighting. This means you could set the lighting as per your mood and liking. If you are someone who drives after the sun sets, you will definitely enjoy this feature.
For the first time, a fixed glass roof has been offered with a Maruti car. The e Vitara comes with this premium feature which allows light to come inside the cabin during the daytime and gives you a nice view of the sky at night. The Grand Vitara on the other hand, gets a panoramic sunroof which can also be opened and closed.
This one’s for all the audiophiles out there! The Maruti e Vitara gets a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, which is 4 more than what Maruti offers with the top-spec Grand Vitara. Once the car launches and we get to experience it, we will be able to tell you more about the sound system!
The e Vitara is expected to be priced from around Rs Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom) and will go up against the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, and Mahindra BE 6.
With features being a top priority, the e Vitara seems to have nailed it in this department. With so many convenience and safety features introduced with the e Vitara, we also expect Maruti to introduce some of them on other Maruti models as well. Which feature did you like the most? Let us know in the comments section.
