MG recently launched the Windsor EV on our shores at an attractive price point featuring a unique price structure. It is available in three variants to choose from and gets a single battery pack option. The Windsor EV boasts a well-equipped cabin with many essential as well as premium features to take care of your needs and requirements. Along with a long features list, you also need a comfortable and spacious cabin to provide the complete experience. So, in this report, we have detailed the rear seat experience of the Windsor EV. Read on if you have shortlisted the Windsor EV.
Based on an all-EV platform, the Windsor EV’s wheels are placed around the car’s corners and there is no transmission tunnel as well in the middle which generates a good amount of space in the second row.
The Windsor EV provides more than sufficient headroom, knee room and legroom, especially for the price it's offered at and in comparison with the space offered in rival cars. To strengthen its case further, you also get a recline function where you can recline the seats by up to 135 degrees (best-in-segment).
The seat cushioning is also top-notch and gives you a feeling of being sinked into the seats. It is ideal for those who are usually chauffeured around and want to take a quick nap before reaching their destination. The recline feature along with the soft cushioning gives you a lounge-like experience.
You get fully adjustable headrests and an armrest with built-in cup holders. The practicality and convenience factor is further increased by a reading light in the cabin. The rear door pockets are large and spacious and can easily fit in soft drinks, coffee cups and water bottles. Adding to a sense of room and airiness are the large windows and a panoramic glass roof which is not offered on any other car in the segment.

You also get a charging option and a single AC vent. The downside with the single AC vent is that the airflow can only be directed in a single direction which could lead to arguments with the passenger sitting next to you.
MG has really focused on providing a comfortable back seat experience. While the Comet EV’s rear seat is better suited for kids and the ZS EV is not well-known for the rear seat experience. With the Windsor, MG has nailed it with the back seat experience. It is a car that can be and in fact should be considered if you are looking for a comfortable and spacious rear seat experience.
The Windsor EV is MG’S newest entrant in the mass market electric space. It boasts a unique design which looks futuristic and not something that we are used to seeing on our roads. It is well-loaded with features and also comes with a large boot space for added practicality. It features a 38.7 kWh battery pack and offers a claimed range of 331 km. For more details about the MG Windsor EV, head over to our story on the same.
The MG Windsor EV is priced from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, you need to pay a battery rental fee of Rs 3.5 per km extra for its usage. If you want everything inclusive, you will have to pay anywhere between Rs 13.5 lakh to Rs 15.5 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the variant you choose.
At the aforementioned price, it rivals Tata Punch EV directly. While if you consider the whole package, it competes with the likes of Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
