Maruti Brezza Will Become India's First Sub-4 Metre CNG SUV

Maruti Suzuki has one of the widest range of CNG cars, ranging from as small as S-Presso to as big as Grand Vitara compact. And the carmaker is gearing to expand its CNG lineup by showcasing the CNG-powered Brezza at Auto Expo 2023. It’s probably the next CNG car that will be introduced by the carmaker shortly.

The Brezza CNG is powered by the same 1.5-litre K15C DualJet engine that does duty in other CNG cars like XL6 and Grand Vitara. It puts out 88PS and 121.5Nm in CNG mode, and should probably be offered only with a 5-speed manual ‘box. The standard 103PS 1.5-litre petrol engine gets an option of a 6-speed automatic as well.

In terms of features, Maruti offering CNG powertrains in higher-spec trims means you’ll get a feature loaded car. Highlights include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, a coloured multi-info display, and push button start.

Passenger safety should be taken care of by up to six airbags, electronic stability control, and rear parking sensors with camera.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG is expected to command a premium of a lakh over the standard model that is priced from Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be the first ever sub-4 metre SUV to be launched with a CNG powertrain.
