Editor's View of Hero Super Splendor
The Glamour and the Ignitor offer a better riding experience when it comes to a 125cc bike from the Hero's stable. These are also more stylish and upmarket to look at. The Super Splendor should only be bought with utility in mind.

Hero Super Splendor Highlights
Design and Features
The 2018 Super Splendor is a 125cc commuter motorcycle sold by Hero. The new Super Splendor looks a lot more edgier than the older bike thanks to the revamped front and rear ends along with the new graphics. Apart from this, the 2018 Super Splendor also gets a redesigned instrument cluster with side-stand indicator and Hero’s patented i3S start-stop technology. The seat offered is flat, well cushioned and accommodating for two.
The 2018 Super Splendor shares a lot in common with the 2018 Glamour. These include the 124.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine and the semi-cradle frame. The air-cooled engine pumps out 11.5PS of power at 7500rpm and 11Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels by a 4-speed gearbox. The Super Splendour uses telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. 130mm drum brakes on either ends take care of the braking duties. The commuter motorcycle packs a 13-litre fuel tank and tips the scale at 121kg (kerb).
Bajaj Discover 125: Bajaj recently updated the Discover 125 for 2018. The new LED DRLs offer a premium look to the bike. Bajaj has also increased the suspension travel to help the Discover 125 tackle bad roads better. The 2018 Discover 125 is powered by an updated engine which equals the Super Slendor’s i3S-equipped motor while outclassing the Hero Shine when it comes to performance. The Bajaj Discover 125 also undercuts its competition by a great margin, being priced at par with the premium 110cc segment.
Honda CB Shine: The Honda Shine gets new graphics for 2018. Although it still manages to look plain-jane, the new graphics and the chrome strap on top of the headlamp, add a bit of freshness to it. Just like the Discover 125, you also get the option to opt for a disc brake, which is absent in the Super Splendor. The Shine also gets the longest seat in the segment, so it should be comfortable for people on the larger side as well. Honda's reputation for reliability and a price tag that is closer to the Super Splendor, enhances the deal further.
The new Super Splendor certainly marks an improvement over the model it replaces in the performance department. When it comes to fuel efficiency, the Super Splendour is equipped with Hero’s i3S technology, which gives it an edge over the others. But by how much, is still something we have to figure out. While the Splendor comes across as an admirable motorcycle offering good comfort and ride quality. It does lose out on the feature front. Particularly since its priced almost at par with the disc brake variant of the Honda Shine. That said, the Discover 125 does comes across as a value-for-money offering as it costs Rs 4,000 less than the Honda Shine while not missing out on any of the features, the Honda has to offer.
