Overhyped, and Overpriced. Pros:1. Design - An eye-catching boxy look, kind of mini wrangler2. 18inch allow wheels with better ground clearance. I am expecting to change the lane by driving over the road dividers in case the U-turn is more than 1km ;)3. As the city streets are no different than off-road streets these days with millions of potholes here and there, Thar serves the purpose of my daily off-roading dreams ;)4. Good for a small family or use it as a second car5. Thar would definitely get you a girl if you don’t have one ;)Cons:1. Overpriced: Either M&M didn’t conduct price sensitivity testing among the potential buyers to identify the right pricing model, or they assumed that they are going to sell limited units, so why not at a premium cost? Those who wanna buy will buy anyhow.2. M&M isn’t aware of the new segment apart from those who buy Thar for off-road only - Regular office goers who want to use Thar as their daily car or a second car for a family outing during the weekends3. So many loose wires here such as the glass defrost at the back 4. There is no boot space officially. Even Tata Nano had better boot spaceConclusions:1. Eventually the buyers would curse Thar designers when they are over with the looks of Thar and start facing the real issues2. Bring down the cost of LX MT 4 seater to 12 lakh on-road. Don’t make the buyer considering better alternatives available after 15lk such as Nexon, Harrier, Hector, Seltos, and so forth.

6 seater is not available with lx variant bumpy ride quality.The thar is never settled, No matter what the road or speed poor road manners at high speed.Best to cruise at 100 - 110 km/h onlyimpractical due to the 2-doors, 4 seats (not 5) & difficult access to the back seatlaughably small boot simply isn’t enough for holiday luggagepetrol at is thirsty due to its hefty weight, 148 bhp & torque-converter atpremium pricing for the higher variants.Lot of money for the thar's limited usabilitysad feature list for a 17-lakh car.No reversing cam, Auto-dimming irvm, Auto headlamps & wipers, Electrically-folding orvms, Rear wash & wipe…apprehensions of niggles & mahindra's hit-or-miss after-sales service quality.

Not a family car can't comfort four occupants as other similarly priced suvs would.Poor petrol efficiency.The best affordable off-roader in the country.Dashboard visibility is very good, Nibbling through city traffic is tough n also through narrow roads and yes you are seated quite high.Cons back camera comes as an accessory.It is indeed a driver's car for me.As i will be happy using 130hp in my daily driving but i will take mt.N.Power output is good to keep me happy.On my test drive was narrow roads construction area.

The safety in Mahindra Thar is very high with high score in the safety but gives body roll. The engine is refined and in the city it is very enjoyable and is a very different SUV and the feel of this car is excellent. It offers a lot in good pricing and is a very awsome car to drive and is a winner car from Mahindra but the comfort is not good in the rear seat. The cabin is noise free and i am using petrol engine and the ground clearance is outstanding and the handling is decent.

It provides great performance for the off roading and the riding comfort is good. It has a hard build quality and is very capable and stable compact SUV and the engine is much more powerful. The engine is very exciting and the power delivery is very smooth and provides a powerful turbo petrol engine. It has a refined engine and is a proper off roader compact SUV but is not a fuel efficient. It feels very good on the highway but the ride quality is not good and the price is high.

First people buy this car for the off roading but after time it is very popular now and people now buy Mahindra Thar also for the city use because the love of people for this SUV is unbelivable. It is one of the most amazing road presence SUV and now the price of this SUV is less than before. The engine is so much refined and there is no noise and the ground clearance is really good with the nice handling and the safety is very high but the second row is not spacious.
