The Scorpio has been reincarnated as the Scorpio N in its new generation and while it is a more modern SUV in every way, it’s still based on a good old fashioned ladder-frame chassis. What’s more, it also offers a proper 4x4 drivetrain with the diesel engine. It shares these SUV traits with Mahindra’s purpose-built off-roader, the Thar, while packaging this pedigree in something more family-friendly. It’s fair to say that for off-road enthusiasts, the Thar will be the weapon of choice but how close can the Scorpio 4x4 get on a dedicated off-road circuit?
