Overview

  • The newly revealed TVS RTR 125 is designed as a premium, performance-oriented entry in the 125cc segment, pairing aggressive streetfighter styling with modern hardware. This motorcycle is meant to be the entry point for the European market, for A1 licence holders (read beginner riders).
  • At its heart is a 125 cc, 4-valve, liquid-cooled DOHC engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch. The powertrain produces an output of 14.9 PS at 9,000 rpm and 12 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. This is the smallest liquid-cooled engine on a TVS bike, and is the first of its kind on a production TVS motorcycle.
  • Key features include switchable dual-channel ABS, multiple ride modes, an LED projector headlamp with DRL, and a 5-inch TFT display with connectivity and full-screen map mirroring. The lighting is all-LED, of course.
  • It is built on a new trellis frame with cast aluminium swingarm. The bike rolls on what looks like 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, with a petal disc up front as well as the rear. Underpinnings include an inverted fork and a rear monoshock.
  • Design-wise, this is like no other TVS motorcycle, and we quite like it. Sadly, this is meant only for European markets for now, and it will compete with the Yamaha XSR125, Yamaha MT125, Kawasaki Z125, KTM 125 Duke, and the Honda CB125R in the continent.
