Citroen India has teased the Basalt once again, this time revealing some of the features the SUV-coupe will come with. And there’s some good news on this regard as the Basalt will get additional niceties that the C3 and C3 Aircross don’t get at the moment. The Basalt is all set for an India unveil in August, with prices expected shortly thereafter.
The latest teaser from Citroen has confirmed the presence of automatic climate control, a feature which the C3 and C3 Aircross does not get at the moment. Apart from that, it is also expected to come with additional nice features such as keyless entry with push button start and cruise control.

Apart from that, the teaser also confirms the presence of a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver’s display. In terms of safety, the Basalt is expected to come with six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, electronic stability control and hill start assist.
The Citroen Basalt is expected to come with the 110 PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that does duty in the C3 Aircross. It should be offered with both 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Lower-spec variants could also come with the 82 PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with the 5-speed manual transmission.
We expect the Citroen Basalt to have a starting price of around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the upcoming Tata Curvv, while being a SUV-coupe alternative to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara and MG Astor.
