2014 Jaguar F-Type Coupe launched in India at Rs 1.21 Crore

The Jaguar F-Type cabriolet is a spectacular car in its own right and with the introduction of the new F-Type Coupe the Jaguar sportscar line up gets even better. What has been called by many as possibly the most beautiful car in production today, the Jaguar F-Type Coupe has finally been launched in India. Essentially, the Jaguar F-Type Coupe is as same as the convertible but with a fixed hard top. Not only does this add to the visual appeal of the F-Type but it will also go a long way in making the car much better to drive than before.

Available with three engine options, the F-Type Coupe will come in standard, S and the top-of-the-line R specification. The standard car gets a 3.0-litre V6 supercharged engine that generates 340PS. The standard Jaguar F-Type Coupe can be instantly recognised by the two large exhaust tips mounted in the centre of the rear bumper and the smaller 18-inch rims. The Jaguar F-Type S Coupe comes with the same 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine but with 40PS more than the standard. The resulting V6 engine producing 380PS in the Jaguar F-Type Coupe S gives the car a 0-100kmph time of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 275kmph. 

The range topper of the Jaguar F-Type Coupe range is the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe. The R Coupe gets a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 from the Jaguar XKR-S that makes a staggering 550PS of peak power and 680Nm of peak torque. The Jaguar F-Type R Coupe gets a set of 20-inch wheels as standard along with bigger brakes and slightly tweaked suspension to deal with the extra power. The supercharged V8 in the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe gives it a 0-100kmph time of only 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 300kmph. 

The Jaguar F-Type Coupe is available in India at Rs 1.21 Crore for the standard car, Rs 1.50 Crore for the S Coupe and Rs 1.82 Crore for the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe (ex-showoom, Mumbai). This puts it up against the likes of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Maserati Gran Tourismo and the Audi R8 V10+ amongst others.
