Mini has introduced a new multi-tone roof, consisting of three shades that blend into each other, for its models.
The combination, which was first showcased in the Mini Cooper SE EV, is achieved using a wet-on-wet painting process. It uses San Marino Blue, Pearly Aqua, and Jet Black to form a multi-tone colour scheme. It uses Mini’s history of offering contrasting roofs as inspiration, and is applied at the carmaker’s plant in Oxford, UK.
It is offered as an option in all exterior shades for the Mini 3-door, 5-door, and Clubman. The only shades that miss out on this option are metallic Chilli Red and British Racing Green, plus the Clubman’s metallic Indian Summer Red.
Adding an aesthetic quotient to the cars, the multi-tone roof gives off the appearance of shifting colours as you move from front to back, resulting in a visually appealing process. Furthermore, a touch of uniqueness will be added to each model with the multi-tone roof thanks to the slight variation in application and environmental conditions.
Mini recently launched the facelifted versions of the Mini 3-door, Mini Convertible, and Mini John Cooper Works. Scroll down to read more.
