The Aventador S replaces the standard Aventador and will be available in coupe form only

The Aventador S has a new front bumper design

Supercar lovers and buyers, rejoice! Italian supercar maker Lamborghini is all set to bring the all-new Aventador to India tomorrow. This time around, it is called the Aventador S and it is the most 'inexpensive' Aventador the company sells. However, the Aventador S is badder and meaner than the 'regular' Aventador. Allow us to show you just how different the two cars are.

The Aventador S now comes with an active spoiler

The Aventador S features a sharper front end than the Aventador, with its front bumper now resembling a snake baring its fangs. The redesigned front bumper has increased downforce at the front – by 130 per cent. The changes made to the rear have resulted in 400 per cent more downforce at the back. The Aventador S comes with an active spoiler too, to aid aerodynamics. Something you should keep in mind is that the Aventador S will be available only in the coupe form. No Aventador S Roadster for now folks!

The changes carry on to the mechanicals as well. From the same 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 as the standard Aventador, the Aventador S makes 740PS power and 690Nm torque. It is paired to a seven-speed single clutch automatic transmission and sends power to all four wheels. While the torque remains the same as the regular Aventador, the power is up by 40PS. The Aventador S blasts from 0-100kmph in 2.9 seconds, while the top speed is 350kmph, the same as the outgoing car.

An additional EGO mode has been added to the drive mode selector to tailor the steering, suspension and engine settings as per the driver's preferences. The Aventador S also comes with four-wheel steering with the rear wheels turning in the opposite direction of the front wheels at low speeds. The rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels at high speeds to aid high-speed cornering.

The Aventador S can be made to the buyer's liking via Lamborghini's Ad Personam personalization programme. The Aventador S is expected to sport a price tag of Rs 5.5 crore before you pay for the (optional) personalization features.
