The upcoming two-wheeler is called the RevoNex and is likely to be the naked version of the SuperNex!

  • Kymco unveiled the SuperNex electric superbike at the 2018 EICMA show.
  • Compared to the SuperNex, expect the RevoNex to pack slightly milder performance figures.
  • For reference, the faired bike is capable of accelerating from 0-100kmph in 3 seconds, topping off at 249kmph.
  • Taiwanese auto major Kymco has dropped a teaser for its upcoming two-wheeler called the RevoNex. It is scheduled to be unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy on November 5. The video shows a tablet (possibly containing an illustration of the upcoming motorcycle) being shown to a bunch of people and the video shows their reaction to it. It then ends with text - “RevoNex -- Meet us at EICMA - Milano, November 5, 2019”. Interestingly, the font used is also similar to the SuperNex except for the colours.

All these factors point out to one possibility - a naked performance electric motorcycle. The SuperNex was unveiled at last year’s EICMA, so it makes sense for the brand to bring out a naked iteration this year. Moreover, patent showing the SuperNex with a wide handlebar surfaced in June this year, reinforcing the same. It also hints at the possibility of a sports tourer but we believe it will most likely be a naked as electric sports tourers are relatively niche in comparison.

    SuperNex shown for representation

The SuperNex claimed some crazy performance figures: 0-100kmph in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 249kmph achieved in just 10.9 seconds! However, expect the naked to be slightly milder in terms of performance, but it should be hair-raisingly quick nonetheless. The naked bike is likely to use a 6-speed transmission like the SuperNex, and it could be loaded with electronics like traction control, rear wheel lift mitigation system, riding modes, and more. The bike could also get premium components like inverted fork, monoshock, and disc brakes with radial caliper up front for optimum handling. For riders who like all things fancy, it is expected to come with ‘Active Acoustic Motor’ which essentially imitates the sound of a petrol-powered engine.

As for the range and charging times, expect Kymco to reveal them all at the show. Until then, stay tuned!
