Hyundai will give the Eon a bigger, more powerful petrol engine and will price it at Rs 4.67 lakh on-road in Mumbai

The Hyundai Eon has changed the way we perceive entry-level cars. It’s stylish, well appointed and well put together. The only thing the car lacked was a larger, more powerful engine. Hyundai will change this with the launch of a new Eon variant to be powered by a 1.0-litre engine. The Eon 1.0-litre will cost Rs 4.67 lakh on-road in Mumbai making it Rs 34,000 dearer than the 800cc variant.

Hyundai has already started dispatching the new Eon variant to dealerships. And though Hyundai says, the bookings aren’t officially open dealers on their end are accepting bookings for the Eon 1.0-litre for a sum of Rs 10,000. The promised delivery period for the new car according to dealers in Mumbai is three weeks once the booking is made. The Eon 1.0-litre will come with power steering, front power windows, ORVMs on both the sides and 13-inch wheel caps. Also expect to see some cosmetic changes on this new model to differentiate it from the 800cc version. Dealers say the new trim has slightly different dimensions to the 800cc Eon.
