Cosmetic changes to the hatch should include sportier bumpers, ‘N Line’ badging, new 17-inch alloy wheels, and twin exhaust tips.
Likely to get different upholstery, metal pedals, and red accents on the steering wheel, gearknob, and seat stitching.
Will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with iMT and DCT gearbox options.
Set to go on sale in India around September, 2021.
With the Hyundai i20 N Line debut now barely a week away, select dealerships have begun accepting bookings for the sportier hatchback for a token of Rs 25,000. The carmaker’s first N Line model for India -- which will be available in the N6 and N8 variants which could be based on the standard i20’s Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O) -- is scheduled to go on sale in September this year.

The i20 N Line should get a zippier makeover compared to the standard i20, if the Euro-spec model is anything to go by. Design changes will include bolder front and rear bumpers, a different front grille with a ‘chequered flag’ pattern and the ‘N Line’ logo, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a chrome twin-exhaust muffler.

The cabin will likely get distinct upholstery, metal pedals, red accents on the seat stitching, steering wheel and gear knob, and the ‘N Line’ logo on the seats. Features should be largely similar to the standard model.

The performance hatch will retain the 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol mill from the standard i20, but will likely get enhancements to the suspension, engine response, gear ratios, and exhaust note. Transmission options include iMT (clutchless manual) and DCT - the same as the regular model. While the iMT will be on offer with both variants, the DCT will be exclusively for the N8.

Expect the i20 N Line to be priced at a premium of around Rs 50,000 over the top-spec standard model that retails at Rs 11.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Volkswagen Polo GT will be its true rival here.
