  • Starry Night monotone paint option added to the mix, Fiery Red axed.

  • Fiery Red, now available exclusively as a dual-tone option.

  • i20 N Line design elements include a ‘chequered flag’-theme grille with ‘N Line’ badging, beefier front bumper, ‘N’-branded alloy wheels, dual exhausts and red accents.

  • Retails from Rs 9.91 lakh to Rs 11.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

When Hyundai launched the i20 N Line in India in September last year, it already had a veritable mix of colour options to go with the sporty-looking add-ons. Now, the carmaker has rejigged the hot hatchback’s colour options, and in this report, we bring you everything that has changed in the i20 N Line:

For starters, there’s an all-new Starry Night monotone paint job, which is  a darker hue of blue compared to the Thunder Blue shade. This addition happens at the cost of the Fiery Red colour, which does get the boot, but it’s now available as a dual-tone option along with the Thunder Blue and Polar White.

To sum up: The i20 N Line’s colour palette now comprises Thunder Blue (both mono- and dual-tone), Polar White (mono- and dual-tone), Fiery Red (dual-tone only), Titan Grey (monotone only), and the new Starry Night (monotone only).

The colour revision aside, the hatchback, of course, retains all N Line-specific elements like the chequered flag-theme grille with ‘N Line’ badging, beefier front bumper, N-branded alloy wheels, dual exhausts, and contrasting red touches.

It is powered by the standard i20’s 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 6-speed clutchless manual (iMT) and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. While this setup is identical to the standard model, the N Line gets a throatier exhaust note, stiffer dampers, and returned steering and rear disc brakes. We put these updates to the test in our first drive review to see if they really make a difference.

The Hyundai i20 N Line retails from Rs 9.91 lakh to Rs 11.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Its chief rival is the Volkswagen Polo GT.
