  • It will later go on sale in India around September, 2021.

  • Will Rival the Volkswagen Polo GT.

Mark your calendars: Hyundai’s hot i20 N Line is set to make its India debut on August 24, 2021. What’s more, an RTO document released earlier revealed it’ll be offered in two variants, N6 and N8.

The i20’s N Line trim is the entry point of Hyundai’s performance-focused ‘N’ model range, and comes with sportier styling than the standard i20. If we take the Euro-spec i20 N Line as a reference, it is set to get a tweaked front bumper, a new chequered flag mesh cascading front grille, bespoke 17-inch alloys, N Line branding, a chunkier rear bumper, and a chrome twin-exhaust muffler.

Inside, the changes are likely to be limited to  ‘N Line’ branding, metal pedals and slightly different upholstery with red accents. While details on the N6 and N8 variants haven’t been fully revealed, we think they’ll be based on the Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O) from the standard model.

Powering the i20 N Line will be the same 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine from the standard model, though it will get tweaks to the suspension, engine response, gear ratios, and exhaust note for a little more oomph. The RTO document also reveals it’ll be paired with the iMT (clutchless manual) as well as a DCT transmission options like the standard i20. The former will be limited to the N6 and N8, whereas the latter will be offered in the N8 only.

Post its unveil, the i20 N Line will be launched around September 2021, and is expected to carry a premium of around Rs 50,000 over the top-spec standard model that retails at Rs 11.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The i20 N Line will go up against the Volkswagen Polo GT in the Indian market.
