The governing body for the GT1 Championships, the FIA has finally unveiled details of the series for the 2011 season. Five teams continue on from where they left off at the end of the 2010 season including Hexis AMR, Young Driver AMR, All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport, Sumo Power GT and the Marc VDS Racing Team. The Swiss Racing Team is the other old team competing in 2011. The new teams on the block include Belgian Racing, JR Motorsports, Exim Bank Team China and DKR Engineering. Each of the teams will be running two cars each.
A total of five manufacturers will be competing in 2011 with Hexis AMR and Young Driver AMR running Aston Martin DB9s. The Lamborghini Murcielago 670 R-SV will be run by the Swiss Racing Team and All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsports while Belgian Racing and Marc VDS Racing will be putting the Ford GT Matech into service. Exim Bank Team China and DKR Engineering will be running the Corvette Z06 while the pack will be rounded up by Sumo Power GT and JR Motorsports in their Nissan GT-Rs. The complete list is as follows:
