Here’s what happened in the world of cars this past week

Weekly News Wrapup

This week was a hectic one! Launches from Maruti, Land Rover, Tata grabbed headlines while everyone is keenly awaiting Mahindra to launch the XUV300. There's a long list of cars to watch out for this year. Here's everything you need to know:

Launches

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift

The new Baleno hatchback was first launched back in 2015, and though it has received some updates over time, it was beginning to look a bit long in the tooth. With the facelift, the Baleno is not just bolder looking (at the front at least) but also gets new features which make it feel fresh - especially the new 7.0-inch Harman designed touchscreen multimedia system. The hatch also gets some new standard safety tech including a front passenger seatbelt reminder, reverse parking sensors and the madated speed alert system. The more powerful Baleno RS also gets these updates with a slight revision of the ex-showroom prices.

Land Rover Discovery Sport Landmark Edition

If the Discovery Sport didn't look sporty enough to you, the Landmark Edition variant is here to pacify you. Three exclusive colour options, blacked-out roof, redesigned front bumper, dark 18-inch wheels, all-black interior and subtle trim is what you get. All these additional equipment don’t cost too much, with the variant priced the same as the mid-spec HSE. Details here.
