We’ve come across a couple of bonkers electric two-wheelers in the past but this one takes the cake as far as Auto Expo 2020 is concerned! Hero Electric, who usually likes playing it safe with conventional designs, has taken the wraps off its AE-3 e-Trike. And if that wasn’t enough, the brand intends to use this EV to tap into Business 2 Business (B2B) transportation. Yeah, we don’t get it either.

Nonetheless, the AE-3 powers itself using a 5.5kW electric motor and a 48V/4kWh lithium-ion battery pack which employs a belt drive with a large pulley to transfer power to the rear wheel. Hero Electric claims 100km on a single charge and a top speed of 80kmph. You charge the AE-3's battery pack to full within 5 hours.

It comes packed with features too! This includes a fully digital instrument cluster, walk assist, reverse assist up to 26kmph, app connectivity with real-time tracking and geo-fencing. You could also use the scooters mobile charger to juice up your smartphone, in case it runs out.

Now, if you have issues balancing two wheels, this ought to be the perfect scooter for you. The electric AE-3 e-trike can balance itself while standing still using its gyroscope-enabled auto-balance park switch. Furthermore, it features a sophisticated twin telescopic fork with a pair of disc brakes that anchor each wheel. The rear, on the other hand, comes with a twin gas-charged shock absorber setup and a petal disc.
